Our mission: growing together
Community led growth as a zebra company
At Ludejo, we are dedicated to making information and knowledge accessible to everyone. We aim to contribute positively to society while operating sustainably and profitably—a balance that characterises us as a “zebra company.” Our social mission is a top priority, and we firmly believe in growing together. Of course, we are not alone in valuing these ideals.
Social involvement
To further our social goals, Ludejo partners with various organisations that share our commitment to making a difference. These include both international and local partners. Below, we would like to introduce you to some of these organisations.
GALA
The Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) is an international non-profit trade association that aligns with our belief that you can achieve more together than alone. Being a member of GALA gives you the opportunity to learn from other members and expand your reach. We take inspiration from the platform’s members and pass on our knowledge to others.
Every year, GALA hosts a conference where we advocate for Translators without Borders (TWB). We organise a benefit evening at the conference to raise funds and attention for TWB, with the support of industry sponsors, partners, and friends. To date, these events have raised a total of €35,200.
Our next fundraiser for TWB is scheduled for April 2025 in Montreal. We look forward to seeing many of our GALA friends and partners there.
Translators without Borders (Clear Global)
What exactly is Translators without Borders?
Translators without Borders (TWB) is an organisation supported by approximately 100,000 volunteers, primarily linguists, who provide their expertise to humanitarian and development organisations worldwide, making critical information accessible to all.
This mission closely aligns with Ludejo’s:
The provision of information and knowledge in such a way that all people can understand it, regardless of what educational levels they have, what culture they come from, what religion they profess, which disabilities they have, or what language they speak.
CLEAR Global, which emerged from TWB, is a non-profit organisation focused on improving global communication and access to information, particularly for people in poverty or conflict zones.
“Ludejo is one of our most valued sponsors. They are consistent in their support for our work, create awareness and advocate inclusion. And they do that in a way that is both great fun and highly creative. Their business model – support to the community over profit – is truly inspiring, and I hope will be the standard someday,” said Aimee Ansari, CEO of CLEAR Global.
Have a look at our website for more information about our partnership with Clear Global.
Utrecht International Center
Our commitment to social involvement extends beyond the international level; we also focus on building bridges between the international community in the Netherlands and Dutch culture. That’s why we partner with the Utrecht International Center, which supports newcomers to the Utrecht region, helping attract and retain international talent.
The Utrecht International Center offers both on-site and online support to navigate the bureaucratic aspects of living in the Netherlands. They also organise events to help newcomers build social networks. The Center collaborates with partners, including Ludejo, who offer services or employ international workers.
As one of those partners, we understand the importance of helping expats feel at home in the Netherlands as quickly as possible. We offer a “Dutch language and culture for beginners” course tailored for expats, which focuses on both language acquisition and cultural integration.
Content Amersfoort
We also enjoy joining forces with companies closer to home, in Amersfoort. Content Amersfoort is an entrepreneurial platform dedicated to enhancing connections and trade relations within the city.
At Content Amersfoort, local entrepreneurs share knowledge, helping us grow together. A portion of the platform’s proceeds supports local charities, further benefiting the community. These knowledge exchanges occur not only in meetings over coffee but also at various enjoyable events!
Content Amersfoort’s members range from sole proprietorships to large companies with local branches. At Ludejo, we believe that everyone is welcome. This inclusivity allows small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to connect with larger companies, fostering collaboration that might not happen otherwise. In today’s business climate, it is essential that we support each other.
Successful collaborations
Through Content Amersfoort, we’ve connected with various entrepreneurs. One such entrepreneur is Sander van der Horn of Studio DDO, who shares:
“While looking for a partner for translations, I found Ludejo – right here in my home town of Amersfoort. […] Highly recommended!”
We also met Renger van Esveld of Videos by Renger through Content Amersfoort:
“Ludejo helped me translate and subtitle several videos for a museum exhibition. I found this collaboration to be very pleasant due to the quick responses, the thoughtful approach to finding solutions, and the flexibility in scheduling. […] I definitely recommend Ludejo for all types of translations/subtitling, and I will certainly use them again in future.”
Growing together as a herd
As you can see, at Ludejo we are real herd animals, just like zebras – we thrive on collaboration. We enjoy working with others to make knowledge available to all. In collaboration, we learn from each other and grow together. The team at Ludejo is passionate about this mission every day!
